HANDS ON GLASS
SYNOPSIS// This short documentary explores the commitment to life, nature, inspiration and the working process of the Finnish artist Elina Salonen, who uses glass as the main form of expression to develop her sculptural work through artisanal methods.
SINOPSI // Aquest curt documental explora el compromís amb la vida, la natura, la inspiració i el procés de treball de l’artista finlandesa Elina Salonen, que utilitza el vidre com a principal forma d’expressió per desenvolupar el seu treball escultòric mitjançant mètodes artesanals.

Elina Salonen
Elina Salonen lives and works in Hämeenlinna, Finland. From 2005–2007 she studied artistic glass-working techniques at Vetroricerca Glas & Modern, Bolzano, Italy; she then took a BA in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna, Italy (2008-2012). She has attended glass workshops in Finland, Czech Republic, Germany, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey. She has participated in various group exhibitions in Finland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy and Spain; she had a solo exhibition in 2016 at The Finnish Glass Museum, Riihimäki, Finland. Elina Salonen has works in the Finnish State Art Collection and in public and private collections in Finland and abroad.
Salonen is interested in the way we pay attention to the small things in everyday life. What captures our interest? And why do some things remain invisible to us?

Àlex Reig, Barcelona 1969: Multidisciplinary artist living in Finland who develops his artistic activity between sculpture, photography, graphic design and recently in the field of video creation and who in the last two decades has carried out artistic projects covering the exhibition and audiovisual field at national and international level.
